Hockey Coming Back To ATL + Market Update

There’s a LOT happening around Atlanta right now. For starters, hockey might be coming back and mixed-use is popping up everywhere. Translation… Atlanta is not slowing down.

Before we get into all that, here’s your 30-second market update. There are three real drivers of moves right now. Distance, death, and divorce.

Divorce

When life hits, it hits, no matter whether it’s a seller’s market or not. If you or someone you know is staring down the barrel of divorce, the house is the largest asset to settle. I’ll handle the hard stuff with communication, help set a mutually agreed upon sales price, prepare Net Sheets, and coordinate with the closing attorney to ensure proper distribution of proceeds. I might be part therapist, because my job is to keep emotions from derailing the deal.

Distance to work is a big one. Atlanta traffic will have you questioning your life choices by Exit 7 on 400. People are done with that, moving closer to work, simplifying life, and reclaiming their time. COVID gave everyone a taste of working from home… now time’s a changin’.

Death: And then there are estate sales. This one hits close. I helped more families through this last year than I have in over 22 years. It is not just selling a home. It is knowing how to navigate the process. Just last week, I helped push a probate through Cobb County in one week. Most take six or more even when everything is lined up. Knowing who to call and how to handle it can be the difference between a smooth closing and things dragging on for months.

If you or someone you know is going through one of these situations, I can help. No pressure, just straight answers and a clear plan.

Now for the fun stuff.

There’s the buzz around potential NHL expansion and a possible return of hockey, with Alpharetta being a serious contender for a new arena (rendering above). If that lands, it is not just about hockey. It is about jobs, infrastructure, entertainment, and a major spike in visibility. Areas around large entertainment hubs historically see increased demand, stronger appreciation, and more investor attention.

Atlanta is stacking momentum this spring. The BeltLine continues expanding, The Braves/Battery Atlanta keeps pulling energy into the northwest corridor, and new mixed-use developments are popping up all over the metro. Think more walkable spaces, better dining, and more reasons for people to stay local. That matters for home values.

So if you're looking to live where the action is, I'm just a call away to help with any strategy and planning talks. 404.932.5564

Cheers,

Mike
